It features a single “X”-carved drawer with an oblong steel pull over a like-carved locking door with handcut steel escutcheon and steel barrel hinges, and opens to reveal a single removable shelf. Storage pieces such as this confiturier were originally used to store jambs and jellies, however, this cabinet would be very useful as a nightstand next to a tall bedstead.
