Woodcut print realized by escher for the series "emblemata", and published in 1931. On hollande van gelder paper. Edition of 300. Unsigned, as issued. Excellent condition, matted. In this work, escher realized 24 woodcuts depicting as many phrases created by his friend a.e. Drijfhout, alias g.j. Hoogewerff, in latin and dutch. Ref. 'leven en werk van m.c. Escher' by bool et al., meulenhoff amsterdam, no.168 this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
