Peter and Paolo (29th June 1774) by the “Cavalier” and “Architect” Paolo Posi. This wonderful Etching, representing a Villa with antique monuments with a scene of Joust, is engraved by the “Cavaliere” Giuseppe Vasi, on the drawing by Giuseppe Palazzi. Signed on plate lower margin. Original Title with a detailed capture under the picture. In Very Good condition, with a little stain lower-right corner. Ref: G. Sassoli, Apparati architettonici per fuochi d'artificio, 1994, p. 154, n. 96. Master of Giovan Battista Piranesi, Giuseppe Vasi (Corleone, 1710 - Rome, 1782) was an Italian engraver best known for his Roman vedute, i.e. Delle magnificenze di Roma antica e moderna (1747-61), a collection of 200 plates, 10 books. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
