This set came from the largest and most expensive estate built in Piedmont early in the 20th century. Piedmont is located in the hills above Oakland across the Bay from San Francisco. The home was furnished in part by Julia Morgan, famous for her work with Hearst on his castle. The casting is very nice. The homes most famous owner was Senator Knowland. The central torch with bow is cast separately. There is an off and on switch fitted into the center of the ribbon that ties the three arms together. The gilding is worn. The finish is predominately bronze. Traces of gilding. See less
