Gustav Bolin (Swedish, 1920-1999) "Printemps" Lithograph in colors, pencil signed and numbered 26/150, "Edition Du Damier / Paris" blindstamp at lower left, matted and framed under glass. Bolin was a French artist who studied in Paris with Emile Othon Friesz at the Academy de la Grande Chaumière. During WWII, he lived in Antibes in the South of France. Later, he worked in the studio of Pierre Tal-Coat and frequented the Café de Flore with members of the first generation of the School of Paris including Picasso, Nicolas de Stael and Diego Giacometti. His work can be found in the collections of national museums including the Musee d'Art Moderne, Paris. In 2006, Paris honored him with a retrospective of his work at the Salon of Tapestries and at the exhibition hall of the Louvre des antiquaires.

Condition: Good vintage condition. Metal frame has abrasions.
Provenance: Galerie Cassel, Palm Beach, Florida, private estate of a lady who worked for 20 years in the cosmetics department of Saks Fifth Avenue in Chicago, before retiring to Southern Pines, NC.
