An excellent First Edition period black and white offset lithograph (print) after drawing "Museum Guard" by American artist Mabel Dwight (1875-1955). Comes from a First Limited Edition art folio of period pieces published in 1939. Signed in the print. Publisher copy on the back. Very detailed and realistic. The published even had to put a mark "REPRO" under the image for it not to be mistaken with the original signed by the artist drawing. Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never framed.
Mabel Dwight was an American artist whose lithographs showed scenes of ordinary life with humor and compassion. Between the mid-1920s and the early 1940s she achieved both popularity and critical success.
