Rare pair of mid century modern Heywood Wakefield side tables / plant stands / nightstands. Made of maple featuring rectangular tapered form with three tiers and turned legs.
The Heywood Brothers furniture company formed in 1826 in Massachusetts and merged with the Wakefield Company in 1897. In 1921 they became Heywood-Wakefield. They first made wicker and rattan furniture. By 1949, Heywood -Wakefield designers were being asked to produce more modern furniture lines to keep up with the times and the tastes of American households.
