Chinese sitting luohan scroll, colored inks on paper, mounted on a shimmering, gold and blue, silk brocade ten and ji … Read more Chinese sitting luohan scroll, colored inks on paper, mounted on a shimmering, gold and blue, silk brocade ten and ji in a floral vines pattern with a top ichimonji in a light and dark gold, silk brocade in a dragons and floral vines pattern, surrounded by a nakamawashi in a shimmering silver and tan, silk brocade in a floral, vines pattern. There is a heading above the ichimonji of four, large, Chinese characters in xingshu script over a gold line drawing of dragon tails in the the clouds. Signed, in Kaishu script with one, red, seal mark. The outer cover is a shimmering, light blue and gold, silk brocade in a floral and leafy vines pattern . The image size is 18.25" wide x 35.25" high. There is an export document affixed to the upper right of the scroll, and also to the exterior cover, which includes a wax seal as well. With a tan cord makio and kakio at the top and light mahogany jikusaki at the bottom. Circa early Republic of China era, no later than mid century.
