8.8"W x 11.75"H overall
6.85"W x 10.65"H image
The original artwork is in Private Collection in Paris."The Working Girl" name given to the picture reminds us that Modigliani always showed a special liking for humble folks and for the young. Actually this bears out the aristocratic bent of his temperament, all for the simple and the unsophisticated. The young people in his pictures are always treated quiet plainly, without ornament or embellishment. Fond as he was of the portrait, he never flattered his models, and his procedure often recalls that of the Italian Primitives whom he so deeply venerated.
