Chinese framed porcelain plaque of a warrior monk with a shakujo, a finely drawn and detailed luohan, holding a long khakkhara (pewter staff, bishop's staff) in his right hand, walking on flaming clouds with a Fu Bat in the form of flames flying above. An inscription in black xingshu script with three seal marks is glazed to the upper left. Mounted in the original, finely carved, Chinese, hongmu frame with fine Chinese joinery, with the original bronze hanger. The back is firmly attached. Circa Republic of China period, no later than mid century.
