Stanley William Hayter Original Etching. On woven Barcham Green Hand Made Paper with deckled edges.Plate Size: 14x11cm. Frame Size: 20 3/4 x 16 1/2 in. It is a Numbered Limited Edition and is Hand Signed in pencil and Hand numbered out of 100 and has exemplaire Authentication which is hand numbered. About the artist:
Stanley William Hayter was a noted English painter and printmaker associated in the 1930s with Surrealism and from 1940 onward with Abstract Expressionism. Regarded as one of the most significant printmakers of the 20th century, in 1927 Hayter founded the Atelier 17 studio in Paris, the most influential print shop of the Period. Hayter thought that printmaking was not simply a method of reproduction but was rather a form of artistic creation. He is credited for pioneering 'viscosity printing', a multi-color printing technique.
