These … Read more A remarkable pair of handblown Sommerso art glass vases, model “Oxid,” designed by Bo Borgström for Åseda Glasbruk, Sweden. These sculptural vases are distinguished by their rich material contrast and bold yet restrained form—hallmarks of Swedish glass design from the mid-20th century.

Each vase features a deep cobalt blue core, accented with darker blue speckling, encased within a layer of clear crystal. The Sommerso technique creates exceptional depth and luminosity, allowing the color to appear suspended within the glass. Grand in scale yet elegantly minimal, the vases possess a refined presence that works beautifully as a pair or as strong sculptural elements within an interior.

Both vases are in excellent vintage condition. One example displays a slightly deeper blue tone, adding subtle individuality while maintaining visual harmony.
