From an old Philadelphia estate, a Royal Danish pattern sterling silver sauce or gravy boat on stand, made by International Silver in Meriden, Conn, date marked 1939.
The international Silver Company was founded in 1898. The company was made up of various independent New England silversmiths and became the world’s largest manufacturer of silverware.
A bulbous form gravy boat with a helmet shaped spout, a banded scroll handle, and an oval reeded foot. An oval shaped stand with a pierced acorn motif at either end. A very desirable serving set in a classic pattern.
The boat is engraved on one side with a Gothic style capital G.
Both pieces are fully marked including the maker’s stamp, pattern name, and no. G39.

In very good estate condition with lightly polished patina.
