Extraordinary large scale wall tapestry from acclaimed Hungarian artist Brigitta Varadi. Hand woven from Merino wool, silk gauze, unbleached calico, and bamboo fiber. Brigitta Varadi's work focuses on contemporary interpretations of ancient felting techniques and on preservation of cultural traditions in agricultural communities. Despite the minimalist black and white palette, the piece has ample dimension and texture through the use of four different fibers.
Originally commissioned in 2019 for a private residence in the West Village for $15,000.
