A stunning pair of Italian sterling silver amphora vases or "Porta Palmas" in Neoclassical style, dated beginning of 20th Century, with circular bases ornate with leaf tip borders. These silver vases feature beautiful volute handles while the sides are adorned with embellishments of the muses of the roman mythology depicting: Calliope (the Muse of Epic Poetry, Music, Song, Dance, and Eloquence) with her attribute the wax tablet or scroll, Clio (the Muse of History) with her attribute scroll or Chest of Books, Terpsichore ( Muse of Dance) with her attribute the Lyre, Erato (the Muse of Erotic Poetry) with her attribute the smaller lyre, Polyhymnia (Muse of Scarde Songs) with her attribute depicted veiled and pensive, Talia (Muse of comedy and bucolic poetry) with her attribute ivy wreath, shepherd's staff.
Both vases they bear Italian Makers hallmark and the silver mark for European (Italian) Silver. These amphora vases will be a centerpiece for your dining table and are handmade in Italy.
