Quality design … Read more Very RARE brutalist floating wall shelf by famed architect Peter Asher out of the East Village circa 1960's. Quality design and craftsmanship. Asher designed the famous Dune House on Fire Island, NY at the height of the mid century beach house movement and had a Furniture Gallery in NYC. Sweeping linear lines encase a small storage area with a door that lifts up. Pull and hinges are black Spanish style iron. Shelf is supported by 2 offset brackets the shelf simply rest upon. Sourced from an estate in Northwest NJ where it was displayed up high. I think it would be superb at a lower level and used as a cocktail service piece. IMHO.
