Hand signed bottom right, … Read more A modern mixed-media collage painting on paper titled "In the Beginning" by Detroit artist Nori Geffen. Hand signed bottom right, titled on verso. Circa 1970s. A dramatic and expressive composition depicting abstracted shapes in dark moody blues which are contrasted by bright whites. There is a liveliness and energy to the artwork. Nori Geffen Braude (1926-2014) was a graduate of Cass Tech High School and attended the prestigious Art Students' League in New York City. Nori was a founding member of the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center and a lifelong artist. She created art in a multitude of mediums and added color to the lives of so many. From a private collection.
