These are glazed in lovely browns, greens and tans, with incised designs. Bought these at a church resale store and the ladies running it explained to me that when they came in, they were fitted with oil lamp tops. They chose to remove and clean them to repurpose them for vases. I think that was a wonderful idea and creative recycling. They are very well made and quite sturdy, so they would not tip over easily if a small arrangement was added. There is the same signature incised on the bottom of each, but I have been unable to make it out. Both are in very good condition, no chips or cracks or crazing. The horizontally striped vase measures 6.5" tall x 4.5" at widest. The vertically striped vase measures 6" tall x 4" at widest. These are lovely testament to someone's superb ability with clay and design and am dating them to early to middle 1960s, based on design. Classic MCM! See less
