Mid 20th century folk art woodblock print titled "Girls' Dormitory," depicting a flock of chickens at their nesting boxes and feeding trough in a coop. Black ink on Momigami paper. Titled and signed by Fannie Mennen.
Fannie Mennen was an American artist who was born in 1903. Fannie Mennen was raised in Chattanooga, TN. She obtained a teaching degree from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee and then a Masters Degree in teaching from Columbia University. She taught and studied art throughout her life. She became a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild in 1959 and maintained that association until her death in 1995.
