Female nude sculpture from the arch to the right of the door.
From a sketchbook from a 1957 Italian (mostly Venetian) trip by Charles Merrill Mount (1928-1995). Mount worked in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Europe. He produced portraits and landscapes in watercolor and charcoal and authored several books: John Singer Sargent (1955), Gilbert Stuart (1964), and Claude Monet (1966). The Sargent influence can be seen in all these drawings. Mount also served prison time for stealing historical documents and trying to resell them in the 1980s. Unsigned
