An original watercolor on paper painting by Arthur Bedford Knapp-Fisher, British artist born 1888, "The Jolly Farmer (Paradise St.) Oxford, … Read more An original watercolor on paper painting by Arthur Bedford Knapp-Fisher, British artist born 1888, "The Jolly Farmer (Paradise St.) Oxford, England - July 1929" scene of the aforementioned public house to one side of the corner, another building with a "Kick Off" sign on the other corner, 9" x 10 1/2", signed and dated in the lower left corner front. CA number 3955, CA purchased from a major regional British house August 2024.
The painting has been cleaned of surface dirt, re-matted with Antique White Museum matboard, mat lined, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing, framed with 1/2" antiqued gold moulding.
Knapp-Fisher was an architect and painter, he lived in London. He studied at the Architecture Association, was a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and in 1934 was a Professor of Architecture at the Royal College of Art. He was an Honorary Associate at the Royal Cambrian Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Scottish Academy.
He exhibited at The Royal Academy, the Redfern Gallery and the Ridley Art Club. See less
