Add a piece of mid century, Americana history to your home with this authentic set by Stetson. The set includes 4 large and shallow bowls, hand painted and glazed in 1956 out of Lincoln Illinois. Each bowl has a lovely pale blue stroke over white background base, finished with bold MCM floral motifs in shades of dark blue/gray, pink, and jet black. The undersides are each marked "STETSON-CHINA-CO-LINCOLN-ILL-COPYRIGHT-1956-HANDPAINTED-UNDER GLAZE". Stetson Corporation of Lincoln Illinois employed nearly 800 people who made semi-porcelain dinnerware. With foreign competition flooding the U.S. market, Stetson closed down in 1965.
