This is a Burgess & Leigh covered soup tureen or gravy boat with lid in Leighton. The backstamp is dated about 1912 and this is white with a blue on blue floral design and a spoon cut out in the lid. It has some crazing.
The gravy boat/tureen measures 7.00 inches from handle to handle with a 5.00 inch wide opening. It is 5.00 inches across the short way and 3 3/8 inches to the rim. It is 5.00 inches tall to the top of the handle.
There is some crazing on the lid as shown and also some light crazing on the bottom. It does hold water.
There is also some dirt and wear as shown on the bottom by the backstamp, but then it is over one hundred years old. There are no chips, cracks, discoloration or other damage. It is still in excellent condition for it’s age.
