It is signed with a red Yongzheng symbol, dating it to the Qing Dynasty, but this symbol was re-issued at a later date, and most likely this planter dates from the Early to Mid 20th Century.

The exterior is painted with extraordinary detail. The body consists of two different scenes of Chinese figures and four small scenes of birds perched upon branches with flowers. There are colorful butterflies and Famille Rose Medallion flowers on a metallic gold background in between all of the scenes. The background appears dark in some photos, but in actually it is a reflective metallic gold glaze giving a nice sparkle to the piece.

EXCELLENT CONDITION. No flaws...just some light paint loss on the interior goldfish and seaweed.

An extra-large planter that will look great in any decor, but especially suited for a high end Luxury Palm Beach Chic, Boho Chic, Coastal or Chinoiserie interior design. Perfect for a foyer, grand room, living room or large bedroom. Mid 20th Century Chinese craftsmanship at its best!
