Oil on wooden panel portrait painting attributed Jozef Theodore Lodewyk Geirnaert (Belgian, 1791-1859). Board measures 13-3/8" (34cm) H x 11-1/4" (28.5cm) W. Frame measures 20-1/2" (52.5cm) H x 19" (28.75cm) W x 2-1/2" (6.5cm) D. No apparent signature. Label to verso with pencil inscription, second label in French, translates to: "GEIRNAERT (Jozef), peintre d'histoire, de portraits et d'intérieurs, né le 27 août 1791 à Eecloo, mort le 20 mars 1859 (Ec. Bel.).
Elève d'Herreyns et Paelinck. Le Musée de Gand conserve de lui un tableau.
