he is a professor at the university of arts in poznan and the nicolaus copernicus university in torun, where he runs a serigraphy atelier. His interest about the artistic expression is also focused around these areas. However, pawlowski is first of all and foremost an artist, an artist constantly searching for new technologies of recording and digital imaging, which from he's extracting new formal and ideological inspirations, which makes the subject of his artistic experiments. The theme of his work is invariably a man "portrayed" with ever-changing key conventions. Often it is the process itself that contains a paradox expressed in the show - the true ambivalence relativized by fluid definitions of subject and object, with the whole spectrum of the resulting consequences. Author metaphorises the phenomenon of perception by building multi-matter around the "image", which source each time is an interesting commentary on the present.

in the years 1983-2015 he had 63 individual graphics exhibitions and participated in 314 group exhibitions in poland and abroad.

pawlowski is an award-winning artist, e.g.: international print bienniale in cracow - statutory sbwa award (1986); international bienniale "facing the values", katowice - award committee for independent culture (1990); international print trienniale in cracow - statutory award (2006). International print trienniale in cracow - the prize of the rector of the academy of fine arts in warsaw (2012).

curator of the bienniale of students' graphic art in poznan 1999-2015, curator of the international print trienniale "the colour in graphics" - torun 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015; member of the organizing committee and a jury member of the polish print trienniale in katowice 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015; the international bienniale of digital graphic art in gdynia 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and juror at mtg in cracow, 2009.
