Large vase by Robert and Jean Cloutier, twin brothers masters of French ceramics, famous for their vibrant and imaginative creations. Born at the start of the 20th century, the Cloutier brothers are renowned for their innovative approach and distinctive aesthetic, combining rich textures and fantastical, dreamlike elements.
This vase features a slightly swollen cylindrical shape with a flared neck, with a matte black exterior and an interior glazed in signature Cloutier red.
Signed under the vase: Cloutier RJ.
Provenance: Artists’ workshop. A certificate of authenticity from the widows of the Cloutier brothers will be given to the buyer.
