A 2024 Modernist metal stabile by the American artist William Wesley. This Calder inspired metal sculpture features a red biomorphic base and holds circular yellow, black, white, and red metal shapes that sit counter-balanced on black rods. This sculpture is signed and dated "WW 24" to the base.
William Wesley is a contemporary Wisconsin artist specializing in kinetic metal sculpture. While working security for Milwaukee's Summerfest for over 40 years, Wesley sought a creative outlet to reduce stress during his free time. Wesley's lifelong fascination with art led him to a special admiration of Alexander Calder, who has inspired Wesley to create his own mobiles and stabiles.
