A wonderful painting by the noted American artist John Nathaniel Fenton (b. 1929 - d. 1977) It depicts a young woman with a book reading in a garden. Oil on canvas, signed lower left Fenton. Titled on the back stretcher Enid?. Ther is and old path repair to the back and corresponding inpainting I assume on the front. There are some other areas that appear to have been touched up. The painting has a bit of cracquelure in spots. Lots of detailed photos. The frame is new but suits the painting well.
