It is titled midnight train and … Read more This sale is for a fantastic original painting by noted Oklahoma Artist Eugene Bavinger. It is titled midnight train and measures 45 in. Square. It has a thick textured surface I tried to picture from the side view almost foam lake. If you look closely you can see the windows of a train speeding by at night with buildings and powerlines to the background. And it looks to be in a winter heavy snow storm. It is signed and dated to the lower Left.


Born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma in 1919, Gene Bavinger has lived and made art in Oklahoma his entire life except for a short time in California and New York City and graduate studies in Oklahoma. A year after he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma, he joined the School of Art faculty there in 1947. He taught painting, drawing and design for the next thirty-three years until he retired in 1980.

He was a very prolific painter, who has exhibited and sold work from New York to California and New York City. See less
