A lovely large original offset lithograph after painting "Figures, Mountains, Sky, Star, Bird" (1936) by Juan Miro. Comes from a rare folio of the artist published by Albert Skira in Geneva, Switzerland in the 1940s. Printed on one side. Numbered at the lower right corner: 3. Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never framed.
Here Miro brings to bear the whole battery of his powers as a colorist. The result is a kind of wizardry and legerdemain that enables him to "coin" objects, figures and landscapes at will, and this with a freedom, gusto and intensity that overthrow the established order of creation and set forms evolving in whimsical accordance with the molten flow of gorgeous color-texture.
