Dimensions: 30 ¾” H x 31 ¼” W x 13 ¾” D
A petite French Louis XVI style demilune-console from the 1800s. This impressive little console has its original hand-cut red marble top, shaped to the contours of the wood frame that has been painted in a unique shade of ivory. Note that the marble rests on the frame, not permanently attached. The dramatic apron is carved with many decorative motifs from the Louis XVI period including festooned swags draped from laurel-leaf themed molding accented with painted gold gilt. Slender, fluted legs are joined by a shaped stretcher carved with dentil motif topped by an urn draped with a pair of swags. Cleaned and tightened this console is ready to join your interior.
