The Vintage John Scalia Console Table has all of the bells and whistles to become the focal point of your dining room, entry way, study or library. Starting with the base which is sturdy and beautifully executed in mahogany and rising up to the supporting, ebonized columns which themselves are burnished at the top and bottom with gold leaf, they are a work of art to them selves. The top of the sideboard is richly inlaid with beautiful mahogany veneer center panels surrounded by rosewood banding to create a stunning border for the sideboard. The hardware is also top notch as you would expect from a maker with the reputation of John Scalia, one of New York cities premier furniture builders until they closed their doors in the 1970’s. The finish on the body and drawers of the console show some age and some craquelure but that is to be expected in an item of this age.
