This was painted at my small drawing group, meeting once a week and hiring a model to pose at a friends studio in Oakland. This painting was done using a 10” 12” Masonite panel that earlier was used in my spin art box.
“The work feels immediate and emotional. The strong composition and use of light—implied by the radiating lines in the background—create a sense of drama and focus on the connection and presence of the two figures. The choice to omit facial features makes the piece universally relatable, shifting the emphasis entirely to the power of the human form and the texture of the environment.”
