This painting depicts a riverside cityscape skyscrapers, bridges, and boats floating by. Unframed, the painting is signed to the lower right.

Born in Ohio, Brooks studied architecture at Yale and went on to become a top executive of the Tool Steel Gear and Pinion Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. He began painting watercolors later in life and studied under Edgar Whitney and Laurence Sisson. Brooks eventually went on to teach art classes at Wilmington College and the Cincinnati Art Academy. He was also a member of the Cincinnati Art Club, the Ohio Watercolor Society, and the American Watercolor Society. See less
