Jean Despres (1889-1980) was a French designer known for his intricate Art Deco metal pieces. While working at his family's jewelry business, Despres discovered his love for geometric forms and soon expanded into creating tableware and decorative objects. Despres' pieces were worn by celebrities like Josephine Baker, Andy Warhol, Paul Signac, and Andre Malraux. His work can be found in the collections of the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
