Influenced by the avant-garde circles of Paris, he was associated with leading artists of the era, including Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque. His distinctive metalwork bridged jewelry and functional design, and his creations were worn and collected by notable cultural figures such as Josephine Baker, Andy Warhol, Paul Signac, and André Malraux. Today, his works are held in major museum collections, including the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

-Crafted in hammered silverplate and signed to the underside, this piece exemplifies the bold geometry and industrial elegance that define Després’ work.
-Featuring a gently tapered cylindrical form, the surface is entirely hand-hammered, creating a soft, luminous texture. The rim is adorned with Després’ iconic heavy link chain detail—known as the “gormette”—a chic and sculptural motif he introduced in the 1940s that remains one of his most sought-after design elements.
