Jonathan Scott studied first at the Heatherly School in London and, later, at the Accademia di Bella Arte in Florence and the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. He exhibited widely and with success both in England and the United States, including at the New English Art Club in London and the Los Angeles Museum of Art and was the recipient of numerous juried awards, medals and prizes.

A member of the Laguna Beach Art Association, the Taos Art Association, and the American Watercolour Society, his work is held in the permanent collections of numerous institutions including the Pasadena Art Museum. We are pleased to offer this serene marinescape in which the artist deftly captures the serenity and stillness of a tranquil harbor with sailing boats moored to a wooden jetty. This painting was formerly held in the collection of Nancy Moure, the notable art historian and author of several definitive works on California painters.

Displayed in a hand-made and water-gilded swept wood frame.
