This listed California artist, Hafer studied at the Chouinard Institute in Los Angeles, and privately with Harry Emerson Lewis.

A member of the Palm Springs Art Association, Desert Art Center in Palm Springs, Whittier Art Association, Orange County Art Association and the Laguna Beach Art Association, Hafer exhibited widely and with success in Southern California and was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards. For many years, she served as Director of Arts for the Orange County Fair and also taught art, including at YMCA's in both Orange and Santa Ana, California.
