Signed lower right, "Valeur" and dated 1963.
A prominent member of the Bornholm School, Mogens Valeur was essentially a colorist and focused on representing his chosen subject with line and forms. A student of Peter Rostrup Boyesen, Valeur later attended the Copenhagen Art Academy where he was the recipient of the Even Nielsen Scholarship (1952). During the travels funded by this scholarship, Valeur spent three years visiting Italy, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India. He exhibited widely and with success, including at the Charlottenborg Institute and his work can be found in private and public collections.
