The absence of color forces confrontation with the texture of the heavy impasto, particularly that of the white pigment—applied with a wide palette knife in a manner that may even suggest spackling compound. Some will see an aerial map of a sprawling river delta in high relief. Signed at the lower right and mounted in a floater frame. See less
