Dating back to around the mid-20th century, these bookends, with their ruined column shape, are actually inspired by the typical souvenirs of the Grand Tour, the habit born around the 18th century among the European aristocracy, of undertaking a long journey in Italy or rather in the Mediterranean basin, to discover the cradle of civilization. The two bookends are intact and in good condition, they have a splendid patina and the color veins of the alabaster manage to enhance the preciousness of the marble carving. The measurements of each bookend are: Width 11 cm Depth 5.5 cm Height 14 cm cm Reach out for any additional questions. See less
