A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road".
Forty-Sixth Station: Kameyama. In the title block: "Clearing After the Snow". It is dawn and a gentle quietude emerges from the snowy landscape. On the right, by the rising road a palanquin proceeds from a pack horse heading towards Kameyama Castle.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XLVII.
Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed.
