Forty-Fourth Station: Ishiyakushi. In the title block: "The Temple of the Stone Statue of Yakushi", the healing god. The Saifukuji Monastery, founded in the years 724-729, was known for this shrine and its sacred statue. In the center, two baggage bearers cross a narrow road through the rice fields where peasants work. On the left, in front of the temple entrance, a traveler on foot and another on horseback accompanied by his servant.

This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high-quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XLV.

Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed, never framed. See less
