A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road".
Forty-Third Station: Yokkacihi. In the title block: "The Mie River". A strong breeze bends the branches of the willow. On the right, a traveler crosses the small bridge, while another runs after his hat, which has flown off and rolled onto the road. On the left, we can see the roofs of fishermen's houses and the masts of their boats.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XLIV.
Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never pinned, never framed.
