Fortieth Station: Narumi. In the title block: "The Local Arimatsu-Shibori Fabric", the name of a special dyeing process. Narumi was known for its fabrics and travelers bought them in the shops that lined the road. In the center, a courtesan in a palanquin accompanied by two maids. On the right, a traveler crouching on the back of a horse.

This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XLI.

Nearly excellent condition - minor edge wear, it was pinned in the past, two tiny holes very close to the top corners were smoothed and are barely visible, never framed. See less
