Large octagonal early Qing Dynasty porcelain jardinière with traditional decoration including tree and flower designs and court scenes. This jardinière is most likely, based on the presence of lavender enamel, a piece made during Emperor Yongzheng’s reign which covered the early 18th century. The enameling and decoration are exceptional and precise. The glaze is grey with perhaps a hint of celadon.
This jardinière is in very good original condition with wear consistent with age and use. There is a firing flaw at the base. See photo.
