A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road".
Thirty-Eighth Station: Okazaki. In the title block: "The Bridge of the Yahagi River". A lord's procession crosses the bridge heading towards the city of Okazaki. Against the backdrop of the mountains stands the silhouette of the castle with its roofs decorated with bronze dolphins forming the ridge acroterium.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXXIX.
