A vintage reproduction print of antique Ukiyo-e woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, from his series, "The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road".
Thirty-Fourth Station: Yoshida. In the title block: "The Port of the Toyo River". A lord's procession crosses the bridge and heads towards Yoshida, which houses can be seen. On the right, the castle of the Imagawa lords with roofs decorated with bronze dolphins forming the ridge acroterium. Two plasterers repair the wall of the tower. Another worker waves his hand from the top of the scaffolding.
This reproduction print is not a woodblock reproduction, but offset, full-color print. Detailed.
Comes from a rare art folio published by Editions du Credit Lyonnais in Paris, France, in 1960. Printed in France, on one side of high quality heavy paper. Blank back, numbered on the back: XXXV.
Excellent condition - minor edge wear, never pinned, never framed.
