These … Read more A handsome satinwood and ebony British Campaign officer's chest on a custom made stand, also in satinwood and ebony. These boxes were used by officers to transport their personal effects and documents. The exceptional hardwood resilience of the ebony borders helps to protect the box when travelling. Often you would see this done in brass for the same reason. We had the stand custom made to allow the chest to now become both a side table and storage in one piece.
