A modern and impactful abstract painting having a large presence and scale by artist Roderick Coles. The mixed medium work on stretched canvas, titled "The Hovering" will bring structure and strong emotive geometry to any fine interior. There is a base of plaster and venetian plaster which is then dyed and tinted with the fingers, rubbing over and over the ground. There is simple and intense oil paint, applied clumpy and aged to decorative effect. Within the narrative of the painting, the large dumbbell creatures are hovering and with all their might, fighting gravity and it's timeless effect on all. They are built up in oil layers and encaustic wax, giving a weight and body to them visually. Take a chance. You will cherish your decision.....
